I downloaded their antivirus software that put a virus onto my computer. After that happened and after calling them they tried to claim they didn't semd the email, but took my $37.22, the don't offer discounts for first time users and there must have been someone else that sent the email, yet they got the money oh and for the cheap $199 they cam fix it well thry no only didn't fix it, they crashed every browser that I had. System Mechanic is horrible and they don't deserve the title, "Award Winning". I wanted my laptop to run faster, so I did some research and settled on System Mechanic. Right off they crashed my laptop and couldn't figure out how to fix it. It took them 2 months to figure it out &I had to buy electronic cords at my expense for them to fix the issue. Would you be interested in having your computer destroyed? I've used SM for almost 8 years now. When I needed to renew my subscription I did it online. When starting the program I always got an error message telling me to contact Iolo Tech support. 7 phone calls, 9 emails later all they do is promise to "elevate my problem to the next level" and I'm an "important customer". They NEVER called, NEVER emailed, NEVER tried to help me fix whatever was causing the problem. It's been almost two two months... Read more

System mechanic took a years subscription from me that i didnt even need !...Now i have two years subscription they wont answer my emails...I will never renew it from now on , i'll let my two years run out then thats it...never again. auto upgrade to version 16 recently What mess. Won`t load, freezes, loads of error windows which are unresponsive. Have tried to advise their customer support centre, but they say my log in details are wrong,,,I HAVE NOT CHANGED MY USER NAME OR PASSWORD SINCE 2014. The new temporary password and the same error page keeps re appearing each time you attempt to log in. I am paid up to August 2017. So it seems I will have to put up with this shoddy... Read more

I don't know what's going on with System Mechanic but it is so slow now, and slow my entire pc down I'm considering not renewing my subscription, I'm I've been a subscriber for several years. What the heck has happened, it used to be slick and fast, now it is slow, Ram draining, and irritating! I originally purchased a retail box copy of Driver Scrubber several years ago from Office Depot. I used it first to wipe some drives which were being recycled. I used it again a few years later on the same computer to wipe drives for a computer that was being given away. I have used the System Mechanic for a few years and have not had much of a problem. This year I was automatically renewed for the $29.95 and download the 'new version'. Every single day since February 6th, IOLO pops up a message telling me that my subscription has expired. My Father received one of those emails threatening doom and gloom if he didn't purchase the software. He couldn't reach my husband (his tech support) So he bought it. The next weekend we were in town and we were appalled that he paid $300 to fix a computer that didn't have any problems. They ultimately got their money back (don't know how) but for the last year they have gotten between 5-15 calls a week from IOLO who sold them the software... Read more
