I had purchased and used System Mechanic for many years. Every few months I would get an offer to extend my subscription so I did so as I was using System Mechanic Pro.

In the late summer of 2018, I extended my subscription until July of 2020, paid for it and BOOM, a week or so later, the program stopped working. Upon contacting Customer Service and waiting for days, I was informed that my serial number was being used by someone else. I had all the emails and receipts showing where I had paid for the code. Customer Service was unhelpful and dismissive, so I had no choice but to uninstall the unusable program and go to another.

Months later, Customer Service sent me an email saying my case had been closed and resolved! I asked how it was resolved and weeks later, received an email claiming when I reported the problem with my serial number, the product was already expired. Yet I have a license, emails and credit card statements showing that I had paid for the use through July of 2020. No help whatsoever from this company.

My money was taken with no help from iolo technologies. I will never do business with this company again and will explain to anyone why.

Stay away! I was robbed without a pistol on this.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $100.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Iolo Technologies Cons: Shady business practices.

Very crooked company. They offer updates that actually are upgrades that charge you again.

I once had 3 different autopay accounts going to them.

The product always quits working months before what you have paid for. I'm done with them.

I received an email from pissedconsumer.com to ask if iolo technologies made an attempt to fix this mess. Yes, they responded to the negative post asking me to post on a twitter account so someone with the company could help.

Did that, iolo never responded back. It is my opinion that this half hearted effort was for public show. Iolo never had any intention of helping me. I stand by everything that I initially posted.

Someone else was sold the license that I paid for and the software is still invalid with me almost a year later. My money stolen.

STAY AWAY from this "company". Horrible all the way around.

Hi, this experience is not typical. Usually once you get iolo Support we can easily resolve licensing issues like this.

Please DM me on Twitter @iolo_tech and I will get your case directly to the Support manager - include the email address you used at purchase.

We've been around 20 years and do not treat our customers like this, so let me help get to the bottom of this. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads-up on this company, but you are probably better off not paying for this kind of stuff. You can get, for free all the computer optimization software, malware protection, anti virus protection, etal.

on line.

No real need to pay for protection and tools. Do a search online for whatever you need and go from there.

I actually tried Glary Utilities and find that it works far better that System Mechanic or any other optimization suite software I have used. Very reasonable in price and works just fine. I do purchase a great anti virus/firewall program for peace of mind.
